Knorr-Bremse Rail Systems' Building Enveloped By Euroclad Products |
Euroclad Ltd, has supplied products for an entire building envelope for Knorr-Bremse Rail Systems new building based in Melksham, Wiltshire. The exterior is covered entirely in Euroclad products including the roof, flashings, panels and special bullnose pieces. The result is an effective and aesthetically pleasing appearance for a starightforward design and build project.
Around 7000m2 of Euroclad's Euroseam® Stucco embossed self-curve aluminium standing seam roof was specified for the project. The natural aluminium finish forms its own self-repairing protective oxide layer, which provides natural protection to the roof and a long service life.
Euroclad control the complete manufacturing process of the roofing and cladding, which includes rolling forming the roof sheet on site. This is achieved through the use of a mobile roll former, which is self-contained and drives on and off site.
Employing the Euroclad mobile roll former overcomes problems such as limited access and storage space, high transport costs and potential damage to products during transit and allows for a more efficient process of installing roofs.
A telescopic ramp was used to roll the Euroseam® sheets directly onto the roof, eliminating the need for a crane. The telescopic ramp and entire roll-forming production unit could easily be moved to different locations around the site allowing great flexibility for production of different roof areas.
Euroclad fabricated special large section bullnose eaves, in 0.7mm steel combined with flashings and a range of visually pleasing details on the façades. Flat Europanel HPS 200 has been installed on the front elevation and a Euroclad32/100 HPS 200 profile was installed to the sides and rear of the building.
