Hambleside Danelaw Limited
Established in 1975, Hambleside Danelaw has an enviable reputation for producing innovative GRP
products. The Group follows strong environmental policies and in recognition of its environmental
management systems has BS 14001:2004 and is a carbon neutral organisation.
Its innovation in rooflight technology and the benefits to the
environment of those designs has resulted in several awards. Most notably, in 2006,
the Queen's Award for Enterprise: Innovation recognised the Group's achievement in
introducing to the industry the Insulator rooflight range. Other environmental awards
have been granted by organisations like the Carbon Trust, Green Apple Awards, Business
Commitment to the Environment Awards (BCE) and Vision in Business for The Environment,
Scotland (VIBES).
The BBA-approved Insulator rooflights which carry a UK patent incorporate
an advanced transparent tessellating prism which creates zones of still air to provide the
insulation. This system is able to provide a range of U-values from 0.8W/m²K to 1.8W/m²K
depending upon the specification, resulting in the potential for substantial energy savings.
Additionally, the insulation core improves the light intensity and diffusion, providing an
enhanced working environment, permitting a reduction in artificial light requirements during
daylight hours, again helping to reduce energy costs.
All the rooflight products manufactured by the Group fully comply with the
non fragility testing requirements of the National Association of Rooflight Manufacturers,
meeting HSE and CDM requirements.
