In 1979 Rockwool UK started manufacturing in a custom-built factory in Pencoed, South Wales, built on a former open cast mine landscaped to create one of the most attractive industrial sites in Britain. It is a fully automated plant that operates a certified management system under the requirements of ISO14001. Rockwool Ltd. is also a BSI registered site. Rockwool Ltd is the UK's leading manufacturer of mineral wool insulation for thermal, fire and acoustic protection. Rockwool insulation is one of the most sustainable construction products available, reducing the need to burn fossil fuels, cutting emissions of greenhouse gases and protecting the environment.
